Fr Thinh Nguyen is now taking on the role of Coordinator of Clergy, Life and Ministry in the Archdiocese. This role will have a particular focus on the care and wellbeing of priests who are on appointment in the Archdiocese.
Health and wellbeing of clergy is a focus of the Director, Ministry to Priests and his team.
By promoting a culture of health and wellbeing from when he enters the seminary to his retirement and beyond, ensures that a priest, in his public pastoral life and in his private life, has access to resources that assist him to live in a way that leads to optimal outcomes physically, emotionally and psychologically.
Some of the resources available to assist a priest to proactively manage his health and wellbeing include:
Support for those newly ordained
Newly appointed administrator or parish priests
Priests newly arrived to the country - acculturation, education and training
Conferences and gatherings for cross cultural ministry
Access to psychologist services – Clergy Assistance Program (CAP)
Retirement preparation – life after retirement
